JEFFERSON, S.D. -- Patricia Ann "Patty" Drumeller, 70, of Jefferson passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, at Casa de Paz Care Facility in Sioux City following a courageous battle with cancer.

Services will be 5 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Jefferson, with the Rev. David Roehrich officiating. A dinner will follow the Mass in the church social hall. Her last gift to this world was to donate her body to the Creighton Medical Center in Omaha.

Patty was born July 9, 1938, in Wolbach, Neb., to Gerald and Lillian Curren. She graduated from Macedonia (Iowa) High School in 1956. She moved to Sioux City in 1975, where she began her career in real estate. In 1982, she became the broker/owner of Coldwell Banker Associated Broker Realty Inc.

She was a member of the Greater Sioux City Board of Realtors, Iowa Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors for 33 years. During her career she was awarded the Coldwell Banker Corporate Managers Award of Excellence every year since 1997. She received the Outstanding Service Award in both 1995 and 1996. In 2005, she was nominated for the Sioux City Realtor of the Year. She gave freely of her time and talents to many committees, too many to list. In 2000, she was appointed to the Iowa Liquor Board.

She also belonged to Mercy Medical Health Center Auxiliary, Sioux City Symphony Orchestra Encore, Sioux City Art Center, St. Peter's Catholic Church and Altar Society, Red Hat Society, American Business Women's Association, Sioux City Chamber of Commerce and the Orphan Train Society.

She is survived by her husband, Carl L. Drumeller; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and James Brodie of Liberty, Tenn.; daughter, Tegwin Cain of Marion, Texas; a brother, Gerald Curren of Omaha; two sisters, Carmella McKee of Many, La., and Pamela Rassman of Papillion, Neb.; four grandchildren, Jeremy, John, Callista and Andrew; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Lillian Curren; a sister, Rita Clayton; a brother, Harold Curren; and two grandchildren, Jessica and Jennifer Brodie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army, Hospice of Siouxland or any other charity of your choice.
