9 November 2008SIOUX CITY -- Lorna Elisabeth Phillips, 97, of Laguna Woods, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, passed away as a result of heart complications Oct. 24, 2008, in Laguna Woods surrounded by loved ones.
Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Nov. 15 at Mount of Olives Lutheran Church in Mission Viejo, Calif.
Lorna lived most of her life in Sioux City. In 1982, she and her husband, Emmitt, moved to southern California to be near family. The couple were married for 70 years. Emmitt left this world in 2000.
She was an amazing woman, who continued to share her wisdom and positive outlook on life until the end.
She was the matriarch of a loving family including five children, Darline, Emmitt Jr., Bob, Mark and Lori; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She left her mark on all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
