10 November 2008SIOUX CITY -- Karl Cohen, 49, of Sioux City passed away on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, near his residence.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City, with the Rev. Keith Krebs officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery at Orange City. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Karl Dale was born on July 10, 1959, in Orange City, the son of Robert and Mary Louise (Mulder) Cohen. He was raised at Orange City, where he attended the Maurice-Orange City Community Schools.
In the 1980s, he married Elizabeth Fenton in Sioux City. They made their home in Sioux City, where he was employed at John Morrell and Company for many years. Later, he did construction work.
He enjoyed sports, especially watching Nebraska football games and hunting pheasants. He also participated in church-related activities.
Survivors include his daughter, Julia Cohen of Sioux City; his mother and her husband, Mary and Gerard "Gerry" Reinders of Orange City; two brothers, Kurt Cohen, his twin of Sioux City, and Mike Cohen of Melvin, Iowa; a sister, Anne Cohen of Urbandale, Iowa; his former wife, "Libby" Cohen of Sioux City; and very special friends, Ronny, Don and Dave Stingley and Steve Ferguson.
