SIOUX CITY -- Preston E. Williams of Sioux City passed away Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at New Life Family Center, 2929 W. Fourth St., with the Rev. Judy Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Preston was born Jan. 24, 1970, in Vicksburg, Miss., the son of Diane Hebron and Little D. Pettis. He grew up in Vicksburg and attended Vicksburg High School. He married Betty Jean Johnson on June 12, 2004, in Sioux City.

He was baptized and became a member of the New Life Family Center. He loved spending time with his family and friends, making sure everyone was happy at all times. He also enjoyed listening to his children and wife sing their gospel songs. All he ever wanted in life was to see his kids do right and have some grandchildren when they got older.

Survivors include his sons, Preston Williams Jr. of Vicksburg, Stanley Johnson and Torrey McCloud of Sioux City; daughters, Danielle, Darneisha and Deidra Williams, and Shanequia Montgomery and Anne Marie Johnson, both of Sioux City; his mother, Diane Hebron; three brothers, Quincy William of Vicksburg, Jerome Williams and his wife, Shaterrica of Sioux City and Little D. Pettis Jr. of Vicksburg; sisters and husbands, Irma and Minister Bass of Sioux City, Katrina and Wilbert Trevillon of Pascagoula, Miss., Stacey and Nick Jackson of Jackson, Miss., and Lorine and Earl Lyons of Vicksburg; aunts, Irma, Mary and Monica Love, Sheila Williams and Sharon Ratiffe of Vicksburg, Bonnell Young of Washington, D.C., Aletha Lewis and Aleatha Craft of Las Vegas, Nev., and Josephine Smith of St. Louis, Mo.; uncles, Nugene Love, Leon Williams Jr. and Robert Pettis of Vicksburg; a very special friend, Celeste Sudduth-Triplett; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his father, Little D. Pettis; a brother, Charles Williams; and his grandmother, Mary Love.
