SLOAN, Iowa -- Lucille Miltenberger, 94, of Sloan died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Community Church of Christ at Sloan, with Dr. Emery Killian officiating. Burial will be in Sloan Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Monday until service time at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Lucille was born June 30, 1914, at Cortland, Neb., the daughter of Os and Sara (Lloyd) Woidneck. She was raised in the Cortland area and graduated from Cortland High School. Lucille and Orville H. Miltenberger were united in marriage on May 2, 1934, at Cortland. The couple farmed together in rural Sloan until their retirement in 1990, when they moved to Sloan. Orville died April 26, 2000.
Lucille was a longtime member of Community Church of Christ. She was also more than a 50-year member of Queen Esther Chapter 222 OES and was active in Farm Bureau and 4-H.

Survivors include a son and his wife, William "Bill" and Penelope Miltenberger of Sloan; a daughter and her husband, Beverly and Stephen Longval of Sloan; five grandchildren, Deborah (Jamal) Naas of Santa Clara, Calif., Rebecca (Vincent) Orr of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Stephanie (Joe) Sharp of Atlanta, Ga., Jill (Rod) Marsden of Norfolk, Neb., and Jeffrey (Heather) Longval of Sioux City; 10 great-grandchildren, Deena Orr, Brenna (Kent) Lyons, Erika (Carl) Brooks, Evan and Chandler Sharp, Paige, Jarod and Jack Marsden and Lane and Luke Longval; and four great-great-grandchildren, Gabriel Orr, Hannah and Kole Lyons and Carl Vincent Brooks.

In addition to her husband, Orville, she was preceded in death by her parents.
