ANTHON, Iowa -- Margaret A. Roark, 73, of Anthon died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon, with the Rev. Terry Roder officiating. Burial will be in Mount St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday, with a Catholic Daughters of American rosary at 3:30 p.m. and a vigil wake service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon.

Margaret Ann "Marg" Forch Roark was born Aug. 1, 1935, in Anthon, to Albert and Margaret (Leahy) Forch. She attended the Catholic school and graduated from Anthon High School.

On Nov. 10, 1955, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon, she was united in marriage to Richard L. "Rich" Roark, the son of Edward and Lena Roark.

They were members of St. Joseph Catholic Church and made their home in Anthon. She worked at Gothier Mink Ranch for seasonal pelting. She was also employed by Ben and Katie Sadler, Bob and Bobbie Spies and Ernie and Lottie Bowers until the couple purchased the Cozy Inn in the 1970s. The inn was then destroyed by a fire in 1987. On Sept. 27, 2001, Rich passed away. In 2006, she entered the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville, Iowa.

She enjoyed supporting her daughters and grandchildren in all their activities. She also found pleasure in bowling with various bowling leagues and tournaments, watching the World Series and keeping stats. She enjoyed her occasional visits to Winn-A-Vegas Casino. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan. She actively participated in various group activities at the Good Samaritan Center and was cared for by many loving staff.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carol and her husband, Mike Libke of Correctionville, Iowa, Linda Kellogg and her special friend, Cliff Carmen of Anthon, Barb and her husband, Bart Byriel of Estherville, Iowa, Connie and her husband, Scott Yockey of Anthon and Susie and her husband, Dale "Spike" Bradley of Estherville; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Jo Dicks of Menomonie, Wis., Cec and her husband, Jim Karhoff of Anthon, and Kay and her husband, Jim Frederick of Shenandoah, Iowa; a brother and his wife, Jim and Oline Forch of Sioux City; and sisters-in-law, Opal Forch of Sioux City and Pat Roark of Anthon.

Along with her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law and father-in-law; her brothers, Vince and John Forch; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Roark.
