10 December 2008DANBURY, Iowa -- Veda Mae Workman, 81, of Omaha, formerly of Danbury, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, at a Gretna, Neb. nursing home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury, with the Rev. Terry Roder officiating. Burial will be in Danbury Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at John A. Gentleman Mortuaries in Omaha. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Arrangements in Danbury are under the direction of Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton, Iowa and Danbury.
She is survived by her children and spouses, Tom and Keri Workman, Brian and Pam Workman, Vickie and Dan Jorgensen, Susan and Jerry Jirka and Kerrie Workman; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers; two sisters; nieces and nephews; and her best friend and caregiver, Rosie Stockwell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Workman; a son, Bill; and a daughter, Georgianna.
