CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa -- Fern Elizabeth (Clark) Cockburn, 79, of Cushing, Iowa, formerly of Correctionville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at Correctionville Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Church of Christ in Cherokee, Iowa, with the Rev. Tom Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Correctionville Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home in Holstein, Iowa.

Fern was born May 29, 1929, in Correctionville, the daughter of LeRoy and Ollie (Bentley) Clark. She was united in marriage to George Grant Cockburn on Nov. 18, 1951.

To this union five children were born, an infant daughter, Connie, Ronald (Denise) Cockburn of Correctionville, Rhonda (Curtis) Wiese of Cushing, Sherri (Keith "Rocket") Ludvigson of Cushing and Rita Galvin of Cushing. She had 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; her husband; and a sister, Wanda Casey.
