Sophie M. Rasmussen, 90, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, at Indian Hills Nursing & Rehab Center following a six-month illness.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. A.T. Washington officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Sophie M. Rasmussen was born July 11, 1915, in Sioux City, the daughter of Richard and Sophie Patrosky. She grew up in Sioux City attended Sioux City schools. She graduated from East High School.

She married Walter H. Rasmussen on Dec. 30, 1933, in Sioux City. He died on Feb. 11, 1994, in Sioux City.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Rasmussen of Sioux City, and Wallace "Bud" Rasmussen and his wife, Joyce of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, W. Bill Rasmussen, Don and Rick Rasmussen, Lisa Bulizak, Ronald R. Rasmussen, Teresa Getz and Kim A. Hansen; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Tess Bronoski.
