BATTLE CREEK, Iowa -- Arlene N. Iversen, 75, of Battle Creek died Sunday, July 2, 2006, at Willow Dale Wellness Village in Battle Creek.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Midway in rural Battle Creek, with the Rev. Andrew J. Carlson officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Christensen-Huffman Funeral Home in Battle Creek.

Born Nov. 21, 1930, in Battle Creek, Arlene Noma Iversen was the daughter of Emil and Rosina (Schultz) Albers. She graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1949, then earned her teacher's certificate at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa. She taught first grade in Battle Creek.

On July 10, 1954, she was united in marriage to Curtis Iversen in Battle Creek. He preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1995.

She was an active and faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church-Midway. She served as church organist for more than 60 years. She was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and other organizations, holding various offices over the years. Her interests included flowers, music and scrapbooking.

Survivors include a sister and her husband, Donna and Earl Petersen of Anthon, Iowa; a brother and his wife, Eldon and Sharon Albers of Battle Creek; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Norman Albers.
