Karltin Z. Wade, 49, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, July 9, 2006, at his residence.

Services will be 1 p.m. today at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff. The body will be cremated following the service today.

Karltin Zachary Wade was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. in June 14, 1957, the son of Charles and Amy (DaSilva) Wade. He was raised and educated in Manhattan, N.Y., graduating from high school in the mid 1970s. He served in the U.S. Navy during the late 1970s.

He moved to Iowa in 1992, to turn his life around. Understanding the needs of others, he started his own company service, "People Corporation." Its purpose was to help others with life's difficulties, helped guide them and improved their lives as he had done himself. He also was a master at restoring antique furniture, especially older trunks. He enjoyed making jewelry with Indian stones and anything else antique.

He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed the company of his cats, took care and interest in other animals. The past few years, he traveled to visit relatives and friends in Georgia, until his past year when his health failed him and he no longer could travel.

He is survived by his caregiver and friend, Kay Forsling of Sioux City; two nephews, Arkyle Simmons and Jamal Simmons; a niece, Jamila Simmons; and two cousins, Rosalind Johnson and Joseph Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Julienne Wade; and a sister, Karen Simmons.
