Richard M. "Rick" Lamoureux Jr., 54, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, in Springdale, Ark., after a lengthy and courageous battle with Huntington's Disease.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. The body has been cremated under the direction of Sisco Funeral Home in Springdale, Ark.

Rick was born March 20, 1951, in Sioux City, the son of Richard M. "Dick" and Betty M. (Quintal) Lamoureux Sr. He attended Sioux City Catholic Schools and was a 1969 graduate of Bishop Heelan Catholic High School.

He worked for Tri-State American Motors in Sioux City prior to moving to Arkansas in 1977. He worked in the trucking business as a terminal manager for several different trucking firms.

He married Pam Layne in 1982, in Arkansas.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and going to the movies. He was an avid golfer prior to the onset of his illness. He looked forward to holidays that gave him a chance to spend time with his daughter and other family members.

Survivors include his daughter, Angela "Angie" Lamoureux of Springdale, Ark.; three sisters, Jeanne and her husband, James B. Miller, of Sioux City, Cynthia and her husband, Patrick Enright, of Dakota Dunes, S.D., and Deena Kuykendall and her companion, Larry Brandenburg, of Edmund, Okla.; special friends, Don and Pam Bohannan of Springdale; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the University of Iowa Medical Center, Huntington's Disease Research, 200 Hawkins Drive, Iowa City, IA. 52242.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
