SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Antoinette M. "Toni" Blair, 89, of South Sioux City died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Dan Wittrock officiating. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.

Antoinette was born March 27, 1916, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of Andrew and Lillian (Genovesse) Marino. She came to Sioux City in 1919. She graduated from Central High School.

She married Charles D. Blair on June 26, 1936, in Sioux City. He passed away may 23, 1972, in Sioux City. In her early years, she worked for Swift's, Armour's and Cudahy's. She later worked for Aalfs Manufacturing. More recently, she was the transportation supervisor at Goodwill Industries and ended her career at the South Sioux City Wal-Mart.

At one time, she was a member of the Church of All Nations. She was currently a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in South Sioux City and the Altar Guild. She was a member of the Goodwill Guild and was very involved with the Goodwill Thanksgiving meal and the Christmas Shoe Party for more than 50 years.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting and baking. One of her many loves was traveling with her husband to South Dakota, Colorado and Montana. One of her many accomplishments at Wal-Mart was raising thousands of dollars over the years for Children's Miracle Network. Her efforts were widely recognized by St. Luke's Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Gary N. and Judy Mae Blair of Allen, Neb., and Larry C. and Kathy Blair of Dakota City; three daughters and their husbands, Pearl M. and Wayne Massey of Barnesville, Ga., Charlene E. and Larry Kelly of Sioux City and Shirley D. and Gary Rowe of Onawa, Iowa; a brother and his wife, Frank S. and Margaret M. Marino Sr. of Sioux City; two sisters, Angie Dennis of Heflin, Ala., and Frances Passman of Biloxi, Miss.; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her long time Christian friend, Doris Mullins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; a son, Charles Clair Blair; and a brother, Joseph Marino.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in her name may be directed to the Children's Miracle Network.
