Mrs. Brand was born Sept. 13, 1920, in Spring Place, Ga., the daughter of John and Maudie Summey.

She married James Richard Brand on Aug. 14, 1945, in Macon, Ga. He died in July 1972. After their marriage, the couple moved to Sioux City, where she raised six children and spent the remainder of her life.

She enjoyed bingo, crocheting baby blankets for her grandchildren, baby-sitting, watching movies and helping anyone in any way she could. But most of all, she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons, Jesse and his wife, Miann, of Minnesota, Vic and his wife, Lisa, of McCook Lake, S.D., and Patrick of Oxford, Wis.; a daughter and her husband, Sandra and Russell Streiff of Tucson, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; two sons, Jack and Jerry; two brothers; and six sisters.

Pallbearers will be Derek, Thad, Adam and Patrick Brand, Adam Wright and Russell Streiff.

Her love will stay in our hearts forever. Her spirit will leave her to rest in a beautiful place. We will miss all the love she showered us with.
