Martha C. Anderson, 89, of Sioux City died Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, at Countryside Retirement Home.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Anderson was born Oct. 4, 1916, in Sioux City, the daughter of William and Louise (Hannastadt) May. She graduated from East High School. She then graduated from Sioux City School of Business.

She married Alvin Anderson on June 28, 1958. He died April 9, 1966. She had lived in Sioux City, then in Florida and New Mexico before returning to Sioux City in 1955. She worked at Morningside College from 1960 to 1971. She also worked at other secretarial jobs before and after 1971.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Allen R. Anderson of Enid, Okla.; a daughter, Patricia Anderson of Wahoo, Neb.; four grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Edith May and Hazel May; and two brothers, Arthur May and Arnold May.
