Roberta L. Johnson, 62, of Lincoln, Nebraska, formerly of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and Sioux City died Saturday, November 29, 1997 in Lincoln following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Dr. Allen Call, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Johnson was born August 15, 1935 in Sioux City, the daughter of Willard and Marguerite (Riffle) Smith. She was raised in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools.

She married Ronald D. Johnson on November 28, 1953 in Sioux City. He died April 1, 1991 in Scottsbluff.

She was employed with the Scottsbluff National Bank for many years.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, David ad Nancy of Lincoln and Timothy and Julie of San Jose, California; a brother, Willard “Skip” Smith of South Sioux City; five sisters, Wilma Sims of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, Cheryl Smith of Las Vegas and Donna Bursick, Marybelle McClain and Carolyn Sgroi, all of Omaha, Nebraska and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Nebraska in Lincoln.
