Veteran Railroad Engineer Dies Following Operation

Gill Wight, for 38 years an engineer in the employ of the Northwestern railroad, died yesterday at a hospital, following an operation. Mr. Wight ran from Boone to Council Bluffs and made his home at Boone. He was 72 years old and had been retired on a pension since last fall. He was one of the oldest and best engineers on the road and his faithful services won him the esteem and good will of the railroad officials and employes.

The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Dickinson’s undertaking parlors. The Knights of Pythias and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers will have charge of the services. Interment will be at Floyd Cemetery.

Mr. Wight is survived by a son, who lives in Chicago. Mrs. J. H. Snell, of Sioux City is a sister.

Wight – The funeral services of Gill Wight will be held tomorrow afternoon at the first Methodist Church, Rev. E. S. Johnson officiating. The K. P. Lodge and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers will attend in a body. Interment will be in Logan Park Cemetery.
