Sue was born on January 7, 1951 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of George and Loretta (Cremer) Prince. She grew up in Sloan, Iowa and attended Westwood Schools graduating in 1969. She was united in marriage to Mike Lamoureux at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Salix, Iowa on September 4, 1971.

Sue was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife who cherished her 47 year marriage to “Big Mike”. A loving mother, and grandmother, who took joy in all of her children’s, and grandchildren's accomplishments. She felt that to be on time was to be ten minutes early. She believed that it’s ok to walk in mud puddles, to dance to the beat of your own drum, sing out loud, laugh the loudest, care openly, and be yourself.

Sue worked for St. Joseph’s Hospital, stayed at home to raise her three children, then worked for JoAnn’s Resale Boutique, and finally as a caregiver for Home Instead Senior Care until her health began to fail. Simply put, Sue accepted everyone, always showing compassion, sharing her laughter, and many found her to be a special friend especially in their time of need.

She is survived by her husband, Mike; her mother, Loretta Prince of Sergeant Bluff; a daughter, Amy (Tony Cherkas) of Sioux City; two sons, Rich (Kerry) of Sloan, J and his many friends at home in Salix; five grandchildren; Jordyn Lamoureux, Elijah Lamoureux, Alyzabeth Lamoureux, Alia Lamoureux, and Logan Cherkas; three brothers; Tom (Patti) Prince of Sergeant Bluff, Greg (Vicki) Prince of Pinson, Alabama and Tim (Jo) Prince of Sloan; brothers-in-law, Ed (Dorothy) Lamoureux of Salix and Rich Sulsberger of Warsaw, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Gerrie Lamoureux of Salix, Paula Lamoureux of Fort Mohave, Arizona, Bun McLarty of Sergeant Bluff, and Marilee Thelen of North Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and strays.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Prince; her sister, Cathy Sulsberger; her in-laws, Milford and Leona (LaCroix) Lamoureux; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lowell (Bonnie) Lamoureux, Ray Lamoureux, Rob Lamoureux, Marilyn Lamoureux, and Sam McLarty.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Siouxland for their compassion, care and support through this difficult time.

Condolences may be left online for the family at www.rushfamilycareservice.com
