Dead At 65 Years
Stroke of Apoplexy Takes Away Another Of The City’s Pioneers

As the result of a stroke of apoplexy four days ago, Mrs. John A. Magoun, Sr. a pioneer resident of Sioux City, died yesterday afternoon at the residence, 412 West Eighteenth Street. Her husband was at the bedside when the end came. Following the stroke, Mrs. Magoun failed to rally, but sank gradually.

Mrs. Magoun was 65 years old. She came to Sioux City from Harrietsville, Ohio, 30 years ago and two years later was married to Mr. Magoun.

She is survived by her husband, one son and two step-children. Walter C. Magoun, the son, is in the navy, his present station being Manila, P.I. The step-children are John A. Magoun, Jr. and Mrs. Harriet A. Smith, of Los Angeles, California. Neither Walter Magoun nor Mrs. Smith will be able to attend the funeral, which will be held at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon from the residence. Rev. Manley B. Townsend will officiate. Interment will be in Floyd Cemetery.
