Oldest Resident Buried

The body of Magnus Johnson, 95 years old, 1126 Twenty-third Street, probably the oldest resident of Sioux City, was buried yesterday at Floyd Cemetery. Funeral services were held at 2:30 o’clock from the Anderson undertaking parlors. Rev. C. A. Gavert, of the Swedish Mission Church officiated at the ceremony.

Mr. Johnson was born in Sweden, September 29, 1825. He came directly from Sweden to Woodbury County in the spring of 1880 when he settled on a farm near Lawton, Iowa. He retired from farming in 1907 and moved to Sioux City.
