W. A. Clingan, 52 years old, former druggist of Sioux City, died at 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon at a resort in Los Angeles, California after an illness of several years. He was taken ill seriously two weeks ago.

Death was due, relatives in Sioux City stated, to a complication of stomach troubles. He left Sioux City for Los Angeles several months ago for his health.

Mr. Clingan is a brother of Dr. C.E. Clingan of 814 Sixth Street, at whose residence he made his home for several years. He came to Sioux City as a boy with his parents from Vinton, Iowa, where his father, the late Dr. H.B. Clingan, was a practicing physician.

Up until a few years ago, Mr. Clingan was active as owner and proprietor of a drug store on upper Pierce Street. He retired, however, on account of his health, but kept up a private business among friends.

At the bedside when death came were Mr. and Mrs. V.C. Wales of Los Angeles, former Sioux Cityans who moved to the California City and Mrs. V. Kellogg of Sioux City.

Funeral arrangements have not been made.

The parents of the deceased died several years ago. He is survived by three brothers –Dr. Clingan of Sioux City, E. R. Clingan of Great Falls, Mont., and Emory Clingan of Idaho.
