Brad Alan "Bud" Anfinson, 49, of Sioux City, was born April 2, 1969 and left this life Oct. 23, 2018.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. R. Paul Johnston officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Bud was born to Donald and Gail (Rains) Anfinson. He attended Sioux City Community Schools and was a lifelong resident of Sioux City. He was a baptized and confirmed member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux City. He had been employed with Lindner Painting for the past 16 years.

Bud was a carefree, happy-go-lucky guy who enjoyed life thoroughly. He worked hard and played hard. He was thoughtful, humble, and generous, and could always be counted on for a favor, especially the lousy favors. Bud had fishing buddies, golfing buddies, canoeing buddies and camping buddies, target practice buddies, his friends were his kin. Bud’s roommate was his cat, Kitty. They were the perfect match, he’d scoop her litter box and she’d bring him a dead mouse.

Bud loved special family events and holidays. He always made Mom time, enjoying dinner with her frequently. His niece and nephew and two great nephews had a special place in his heart, and he made frequent trips to visit.

Bud touched many lives, in sometimes simple, yet profound ways, restoring their faith.

Bud had indicated his desire to be an organ donor. Although difficult, his family was honored to fulfill his wish; his passing was not for naught. It was a blessing to learn his heart, lungs and kidneys were candidates, this in addition to his cornea and tissue donation which can heal a multitude of people.

Bud is survived by his mother, Gail Anfinson, his sister, Carie Anfinson-Haden and her husband, Jim Haden, his brother, Scott Raasch and his partner, Dr. Timothy Hainds, and a nephew, Cody Fuehrer, all of Sioux City; a niece, Megan Anfinson and her two boys, Preston and Pryce of Chandler, Ariz.; and many cousins and friends for whom a great void will be left.

Life can be short; live it to the fullest by providing friendship, assistance and giving of your time to others. Be a Bud.
