Edward H. "Big Ed" Johnson, 82, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at his residence.

Services will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Ed was born on Aug. 31, 1936, in Newcastle, Neb., to Howard W. and Pauline H. (Hansen) Johnson. He grew up in the Siouxland area and attended South Sioux City schools. Ed was in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged following three years of service.

On Oct. 17, 1977, Ed married Sunyo Lee in Elk Point, S.D. He worked for Floyd Valley Packing Company for many years, and later retired as a supervisor from John Morrell following 40-plus years of employment. Ed was a golf fanatic and enjoyed hunting. He was also a clown with the Abu Bekr Shriners.

Ed will be dearly missed by his family and all that knew him.
