Robert H. Newton, 74, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2018.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Robert Harry Newton was born July 23, 1944, in Sioux City, the son of Harry and Wilma (Barr) Newton. As a teenager, Bob lived in Arizona and Washington before returning to Sioux City to work with his dad at Sioux Tools, learning to become a machinist. He worked for All Power and Gateway Engineering in South Sioux City. He retired in 2007.

Robert married Deanna Martinson on July 2, 2005, in Sioux City.

Bob was an avid motorcycle rider. He enjoyed the ride from Sturgis and back, fixing and driving hot rods, loved spending time with his children, and no marshmallow peeps were safe to be around Bob.

He was a member of the Strollers Car Club, and he was great friends with members of area motorcycle clubs.

Robert is survived by his wife, Deanna; four sons, Wesley Michael Newton, Robert "Bob" Jr, Matt Boldra and Nick Newton; one daughter, Cathy Brandt; a brother, Bill Newton; two sisters, Kay (Don) Hamilton and Rose Perry; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, John Perry.
