Michael R. Henshaw, 64, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be in Congregational Cemetery at Santee, Neb. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Michael was born on Dec. 12, 1953, in Winnebago, Neb., to Raymond and Antoinette (Abraham) Henshaw. He grew up in Sioux City, and graduated from North High School in 1973, where he was involved in track and football. He received an associate's degree in telecommunications from Western Iowa Tech Community College.

Michael married Kim Pinney on Oct. 18, 1974 in Sioux City, nearly 44 years of marriage.

Michael worked on the MidAmerican Pipeline in Texas. Back in Sioux City, he worked at Gateway, and as a bus driver for Sioux City Transit, retiring in 2016. Michael was strong in his faith, enjoyed worshipping and reading the Bible. He was very connected with nature, learning as much about the great outdoors as he could. He enjoyed traveling out of the country, camping, playing guitar, and spending as much time with his family as he could, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Kim Henshaw; mother, Antoinette Henshaw; children, Greg (Melissa) Henshaw, Sienna (Randy) Guy, Elissa (Matt) Mickelson, Rebecca (Steven) Wager, and Michelle (Chris Wentz) Henshaw; brothers, Kim (Jane) Henshaw and Kent (Sherry) Henshaw; nieces and nephews; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; and his sister, Michaelyn M. Abraham.
