James A. Harrison, 73, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

James A. Harrison was born Dec. 29, 1944, in Sioux City, the son of Arthur L. and Aileen (Fries) Harrison. James was a lifetime resident of Sioux City and attended Sioux City Schools.

He married Sharon Ellis on Dec. 2, 1962, in Elk Point, S.D. She preceded him in death on Feb. 19, 2018. James was employed as a sheet metal worker with various sheet metal shops in Sioux City, before working at Fabricators, Inc. for 28 years and retiring in 2005.

James enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, vegetable gardening, bowling, his dog Bella, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. James was a member of Loyal Order of Moose and the Masonic Lodge. Jim and Sharon were long-time members of the Missouri River Boat Club, where Jim served as Fleet Captain.

Survivors include his daughter, Terri (Jeff) Pratt of Onawa, Iowa; son, Michael (Tonya) Harrison of Sioux City; grandchildren, Megan (Mitch) Meyer, Taylor (fiancée, Jade) Pratt, Laci (Cody) Harder, Bailey Harrison, Madison Harrison, Tyler (Dakota) Riedmann and Rebecca Riedmann; great-grandchildren, Violet Harder, Ivy Harder, with Meyer twins and Riedmann baby on the way; and brothers and sisters, Janet (Sam) Bennett, Joan Hainey, Jeff Harrison, Jon (Ron) Harrison, Joel (Pearl) Harrison and Julie (Buddy) Lane

James was preceded in death by his wife; parents; infant daughter; one brother, Jerry; and one sister, Judy Harrison.
