Robert W. Steckelberg, 87, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, Oct, 3, 2018.

Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Morningside Assembly of God. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Online condolences may be directed to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Robert, the son of Fred and Hazel (Theobold) Steckelberg, was born on Feb. 6, 1931, in Mapleton, Iowa. After his high school graduation, Robert served his country in the U.S. Navy, where he served in the Korean War.

Robert married Elma M. Law on Sept. 4, 1954 in Sioux City. Robert worked as a foreman for Bekins Distribution for 47 years until his retirement.

He enjoyed fishing, horse racing, and spending time with his family.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Jody and Orval Hinrichsen; daughter, Jamie; brother, Melroy; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elma; two sons, Jeff and Curtis; and great-granddaughter, Lilly.
