Rodney Alan Boyle, 63, of Ankeny, formerly of Sioux City, died Sept. 28, 2018, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny. Burial will follow in Ankeny Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, with a rosary at 6:30 p.m., at Memorial Services of Iowa, 4208 North Ankeny Blvd., in Ankeny. Online at www.MemorialServicesOfIowa.com.

Rod was born in 1955 to Charles Boyle and Bertie Boyle. He graduated from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in Sioux City, and Iowa State University, and earned an MBA from Drake University.

In 1980, Rod married Diane Kay Horsley. They lived in Ankeny, Iowa, where he worked for Iowa Power and Light Company and then MidAmerican Energy for over 35 years. Rod and Diane had one daughter, Cynthia.

He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Boyle Lande and son-in-law, John Lande; granddaughter, Katherine Diane Lande; mother, Bertie Boyle; two brothers and three sisters and their spouses, Elizabeth and John Farmer of Sioux City, Kathleen and Ken Wiskus of Lake Mills, Wis., Randal and Nancy Boyle of Sioux City, Deidre and Gary Engel of Sioux City, and Bryon and Barbara Boyle of St. Louis, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

Rod was preceded in death by his wife, Diane; and father, Charles.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
