Roland “Skip” Eugene Poulson, 73, of Smithland, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at a nursing home in Mapleton, Iowa.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.rushfamilycareservice.com.

Roland “Skip” Eugene Poulson was born on Nov. 16, 1944, in Rockwell City, Iowa. He was the son of Floyd and Charlene (Clark) Poulson.

Skip enjoyed fishing, gardening, bingo, NASCAR, playing cards, and spending time at the Smithland Country Store with the men’s gossip group.

Survivors include four children, Donald (Elizabeth) Poulson of Smithland, Stacey Poulson of Lawton, Iowa, Michelle (Larry) Smith of Rodney, Iowa, and Todd (Janelle) Poulson of Le Mars, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
