Funeral services held Monday for Mrs. Louie Epling of Moville were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 31, 1972 at the Eldrdge [Elridge] United Methodist Church in Moville. The Rev. Dr. John A. Dowd officiated and burial was in Arlington cemetery at Moville under the direction of the McCulloch Funeral home of Moville.
Mrs. Roger Schnaible, as soloist, sang ‘It is no Secret’ and ‘How Great Thou Art’. Mrs. Ben Pratt was organist.

Casketbearers were Messrs. Bernie Campbell, Duane Campbell, David St. Peter, Harry St. Peter, Leland Solberg and Bruce Turner.

Mrs. Louis J. Epling, 76, of Moville died Friday, January 28, 1972 at Broadlawn Manor nursing home at Kingsley.

Mrs. Epling, the former Laura Marie Dockweiler, daughter of John Dockweiler and Lena Jensen Dockweiler, was born June 30, 1895, at Ute, Iowa. She was married to Mr. Epling March 3, 1915 in Sioux City. The couple farmed near Moville until retiring to Moville in 1945. Mr. Epling died in March 17, 1969 at Moville.

Mrs. Epling was a member of Eldridge United Methodist Church the Ladies Aid Society of the church and the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. She was a charter member of the Woodbury County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include a son, LeRoy J. of rural Moville; four sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Lillie) Solberg of Lawton, Mrs. Cecil (Elsie) St. Peter of Sioux City, Mrs. Charles (Goldie) Campbell of Spencer, Iowa and Mrs. Wayne (Coral) McCune of Bronson; a grandson and a great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Mervin, a brother, Ernest and a brother in infancy.
