Funeral services to be Thursday for George W. Fries

Funeral services for George W. Fries will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 6 at the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home in Morningside. The Rev. Melvin Adkins of the church of the Nazarene at Storm Lake, Iowa, will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Alvin and Clarence Swanke, Howard Stillwell, Robert Herbold, John Law and Verline Parker.

Mr. Fries, 76, of Bronson died Tuesday morning, February 4 at a Sioux City hospital.

He was born July 25, 1892 on a farm east of Bronson where he lived at the time of death. He married Bessie A. Maybohm August 31, 1915, at Clinton, Iowa. She died July 11, 1963 at Bronson.

Mr. Fries formerly held several offices in the Floyd School District and he was a former member of the International Order of Odd Fellows of Bronson.

Survivors include a son, Loren of Linn Grove, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Irvin (Irene) Rasmussen of Waterbury, Nebr., and Mrs. Jacob (Minerva) Pedersen of Boulder, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Tillie Johnson of Sioux City and Mrs. Arthur Rasmussen of Long Beach, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
