Former Sioux City Man Suicide
Two-Month-Old Seattle Mystery Finally Is Cleared Up

A two-month-old mystery as to the identity of a man who killed himself in a lodging house in Seattle, Washington in October, was cleared up when it was learned the dead man was Lewis J. Wightman, former manager of Woolworth’s 5 and 10 cent store in Sioux City.

Seattle officials had been baffled for two months in their efforts to identify the man who had registered at the lodging house at B.C. Shelby. Finally, relatives were located in Cleveland, Ohio and Hollywood, California who identified the body as that of Wightman.

The deceased was well known in Sioux City where he managed the Woolworth Store for several years. He left Sioux City about seven years ago. Financial difficulties were given as the cause of his act by authorities at Seattle.

The body was turned over to relatives for burial.
