Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church for Claus R. Jorgensen, 63, who died Thursday night in his farm home a mile east of Morningside after an extended illness. Rev. K.M. Matthiesen will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery under the direction of the Nelson-Berger Funeral Home.
Born March 2, 1876 in Denmark, Mr. Jorgensen came to the United States and directly to Sioux City in 1908, working as a carpenter until he retired and moved to the farm eight years ago. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Danish Brotherhood.
Survivors include his widow, Marie; two daughters, Mrs. Harry Washburn of Sioux City and Mrs. Edward Hatterman of Dunlap, Iowa; four sons, Clarence, Marlow, Orva and Kenneth, all of Sioux City; a sister, Mrs. William Wortman of Sergeant Bluff and five grandchildren.
