William P. Klippel

William P. Klippel, 45, of 1508 Silver, an employee of the city streets department for the last six years, died in a local hospital Friday night of complications resulting from a heart ailment following an operation.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:30 p.m. in Christy’s Funeral Home at 711 Myrtle with Rev. G.A. Matthiadess officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery where Monahan Post of the American Legion will conduct graveside services and the firing squad participate.

Mr. Klippel was born December 10, 1893, at Ledgerwood, North Dakota, spent his boyhood in Kansas and moved to Sioux City 30 years ago. On November 28, 1928, he was married to Esther Dobrosky at South Sioux City. A veteran of the World War, he was a member of the American Legion. He also belonged to the union of the municipal employees.

Survivors include his widow; four brothers, Adolph of Sioux City, Clarence of Minneapolis, James of Charlotte, North Carolina and Peter, who is a sailor on the U.S.S. Lexington, three sisters, the Misses Caroline and Nevada Klippel, both of Chicago and Mrs. Claude Gibson of Highland, Kansas and his father, Peter Klippel of Sioux City.
