Robert E. "Bob" Boyle, 57, of Sioux City died Thursday, July 7, 2005, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Westlawn Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. John McKinley officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Bob was born Feb. 27, 1948, in Willis, Neb., the son of John and Dorothy (Sweisberger) Boyle. He grew up in the Jackson, Neb., area.

He married Jeffrey Dawn Tucker on June 10, 1967, in Sioux City. For the past 37 years, he had lived in Sioux City. He worked at various packing houses for 20 years. He was currently working for Halman Construction and had been with the company for almost 20 years.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Jeff; two sons, Kirk Boyle and his wife, Kelly of Norfolk, Neb., and Kevin Boyle of Sioux City; a special adopted son, Rob Ashmore and his wife, Jennifer of Merrill, Iowa; three grandchildren, Drake Boyle, Hope Boyle and Shannin Ashmore; six brothers and their wives, John and Lana Boyle of Lawton, Iowa, Butch and Linda Boyle and Tom and Bert Boyle, all of Dakota City, Neb., Paul and Tina Boyle of Allen, Neb., Ray and Judy Boyle of Sioux City, and Brad and Angie DeRoin of Jackson, Neb.; a brother-in-law, John Hoffman of Humansville, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Karen Boyle of Dakota City; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Merlin and Frances Tucker of Sioux City; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill Boyle; a sister, Dorathy Anne Hoffman; and his stepfather, Jack DeRoin.
