Meredith M. Lewis, 88, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Friday, July 8, 2005, at her residence.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jon Gaul officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Lewis was born Feb. 15, 1917, in Sioux City, the daughter of Victor and Bess (Queen) Anderson. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from East High School. She married Charles A. Lewis on June 18, 1939, in Sioux City. He died in January of 1982 in Sioux City.

She was a Sioux City resident for most of her life. She worked for Mullin Manufacturing for many years. She enjoyed cooking, reading and spending time with her family.

Survivors include three children, Joan Hilts of Omaha, Neb. and twins Kay Tabscott of St. Louis, Mo., and Ken Anderson and his wife Pam of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one sister Bonnie Bloxham and her husband Don of Wichita, Kan.; one brother Dale Anderson of Salinas, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son Robert Lewis; three sisters Dorothy Reback, Carol Abbey and Adeline Sanford and one brother Jerry Anderson.

Pallbearers will be Matt and Eric Hilts, Charlie Nehls, Rick Myalka, David Patty-G'Sell and Mike Kahler.
