Bob was born on Jan. 21, 1947, in Kennett, Mo., to Robert and Betty Dinkel. Bob grew up in Kennett until he was four-years-old. His family then moved to Sioux City, where he graduated from East High School in 1965.

Bob married Jenifer Lynn Boyd on April 3, 1971 in Sioux City. They had just celebrated their 47th anniversary. It wasn't until 1973 when they moved to Storm Lake, Iowa, that Bob found his love for motorcycles. He then went to work for Al and Loretta Tobin's Cycle shop, which moved Bob's family to Mapleton, Iowa until it was sold in 1980. He moved his family back to Sioux City and was employed by Larry "Buck" Fiedler at Sioux City Yamaha-Harley-Davidson until 1998. After the passing of his father in 1998, he decided to move with his family to Arizona, which was better for his health. He retired from Chester's (Chosa's) Harley-Davidson in 2010, where he was the number one in the nation for accuracy of Harley-Davidson warranty claims.

Bob is survived by his wife, Jenifer of Mesa; son Timothy and his wife, Fritzie Dinkel and granddaughter, Sophia Padecio of Frederick, Colo.; son, Robert Dinkel Jr. of Mesa; daughter, Cortney Dinkel and grandson, Cullyn Dinkel of Mesa; his sister, Gloria and her husband, Dave Hawkins of South Sioux City; sisters-in-law, Julie Hess of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Jody Boyd of South Sioux City; a brother-in-law, Donald Byerley of Riverview, Fla.; nieces, Toi (Jerry) Mulder of Boyden, Iowa, and Ann Byerley of Riverview, Fla.; nephew, Todd (Jamie) Rowe of Blairsville, Ga.; and several grandnieces and nephews and great-grandnieces and nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by his brother, Gary Dinkel; his parents, Robert and Betty Dinkel; his sister-in-law, Jane Byerley; his brother-in-law, Eugene Hess; and parents-in-law, Arthur and Helen Boyd.
