Doris Irene Harty, of Kansas City, formerly a resident of Sioux City, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018.
Services will be 3 p.m. today at Newcomer’s Sons White Chapel Funeral Home in Gladstone, Mo. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be 2 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.dwnwhitechapel.com.
She was born on July 4, 1921, in Walthill, Neb., to Otto and Nancy Heckathorn. Doris graduated from Emerson (Neb.) High School and attended two years of business school. She married Phillip Harty in 1943.
She was a member of Riverside Lutheran Church in Sioux City.
She is survived by sons, Jim and Dan Harty; grandchildren, Krysta Harty-Hurley, Jon Harty, Nathan Harty (Tena), Kendra Harty and Jerica Harty; and four great-grandsons, Cael, Breck, Tyce and Nash Harty.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip; and nine siblings.
