Gust Stekelenburg, 60, of Sergeant Bluff, died Sunday night in the Veteran’s Hospital in Des Moines after an illness of one month. He had resided in the Sergeant Bluff locality 20 years. He was born June 21, 1886 in Hospers, Iowa.

Survivors are four sisters, Mrs. Rowena Cameron and Mrs. Clara Coleman, both of Sergeant Bluff, Mrs. Sadie Weigill of Derby, Colorado and Mrs. Carrie Scoffield of Ralph, South Dakota and four brothers, Sherman of Osage, Minnesota, Leonard of Hawarden, George of Salix and Carl of Kingston, Missouri.

The body will be sent to the Winter Funeral Home here.

Gust Stekelenburg

Funeral services for Gust Stekelenburg, 60, Sergeant Bluff, who died Sunday night at the veteran’s hospital at Des Moines after a month’s illness, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Community Church in Sergeant Bluff. Rev. M.L. Metcalf and Rev. Mr. Norris will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery, directed by Winter’s Funeral Home.
