Jackie "Jack" Homer Lethcoe, 85, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at his residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Catie Newman officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a remembrance service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Jack was born on Oct. 21, 1932, in Sioux City, to Harry and Norma (Johnson) Lethcoe. He received his education at Sioux City Public Schools. At a young age, Jack started working for Wonder Bread as a baker.

He married Annette Martin on Feb. 3, 1951 in Sioux City. Jack worked as a baker for 25 years, and was a member of the local Baker's Union. Following his retirement at the early age of 40, Jack drove a truck for 20 years. Following that career, he drove a bus for the Sioux City Schools for nearly 10 years.

Jack enjoyed his memberships to the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Vermillion, S.D., along with that of the Teamsters Union in Sioux City. He took up the art of wood carving later in life, making lamps and walking sticks, which he never sold, but gave away, out of diamond willow that he would collect by walking along the riverbanks near Vermillion. Jack was a great husband to Annette, and a wonderful father to their daughters. In his younger years, Jack enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Jack is survived by his wife, Annette; daughters, Catherine Shove and her husband, Dale, Debbie Henderson and her husband, Lanny, Rose Feisel and her husband, Michael, Nancy McMullen and her husband, Steve, and Terri Bahmer, all of Sioux City; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Darlene Claude of Algona, Iowa, and Wanita Hummel of Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard and Forrest Lethcoe; and sister, Roebina Gifford.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Hospice of Siouxland for their care and assistance.

Memorials may be offered to Hospice of Siouxland, or The Shriner's Children's Hospital, in Jack's name.
