Mike O. Wiggs, 91, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m.. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mike was born on Feb. 27, 1927, in Turin, Iowa, the second youngest child of Lewis Lee and Nellie (Quigley) Wiggs. Mike grew up in Turin and in Onawa, Iowa, and attended school there. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and attended flight school in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Mike served during World War II. Following the service, Mike came to Sioux City and worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for many years.

Mike married Betty Jean Hubregtse. She died in 1967. On Jan. 18, 1969, Mike married Mary Ellen Graffeo in South Sioux City. She passed away on Jan. 31, 2011, in Sioux City.

Mike enjoyed doing yard work, and going to the casino, auctions and rummage sales.

Survivors include his children, Michael Wiggs and his wife, Debby of Sioux City, Tamara Ellefson of Wisconsin, and Margaret Saville and her husband, Marty of Sioux City; a stepdaughter, Bobbie Reifenrath of Nebraska; five grandchildren, Ralph Britton, Ian Wiggs, and George, Forrest and Jasper Saville; and four stepgrandchildren.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; a granddaughter, Josephine Jo-Lee Saville; a grandson, Camron Michael Wiggs; eight brothers; and four sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland or the Big Sioux Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
