Lonnie C. "Youngblood" Ellington, 82, of Sioux City, passed away March 19, 2018, in a local hospital.

Services will be held 1 p.m., Monday at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday with family present and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lonnie was born on Sept. 15, 1935, in West, Miss. He was the son of Lane and Mildred Ellington.

He married Barbara Sargent on Dec. 23, 1979, in Sioux City.

Lonnie worked at IBP for 20-plus years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards, gardening, grilling and watching old western movies on TV. Most of all, Lonnie love spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Barbara; three sons, Bobby (Becky) Ellington of Sioux Falls, S.D., Chris (Jeannie) Ellington and Alfred Ellington; two daughters, Tracy (Siceroe Robinson, Jr.) Starks and Dawn (Tommy Harley) Ellington, all of Sioux City; grandchildren, Brian, Jazman, Veronica, Ocean, Rainbow, Heavenly, Martineus, LaToya, Cierra and Alfred, Jr.; step granddaughter, Michelle; great-grandchildren, Giavonna, Jayla, Kruse, Eric, Aaliyah, Martel, Mayla, Adaya and Gabrielle; and many other extended family members.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Melvin and John; step brother, Willie; and sisters, Pauline, Gloria and Verlena.
