Nancy Ann Mason, 79, of Trussville, formerly Sioux City, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2017 in Trussville from a long battle with cancer.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Nancy was born on Dec. 5, 1938 in Elk Point, S.D., the daughter of Kenneth and Elsie (Hansen) Dillard. She owned and operated A-1 Van’s Uptown Florist for over 20 years and afterwards worked at Dalton’s Restaurant and Bar.

Nancy is survived by her nine children, Kathy (Frank) Yuppa, Albert VanMaanen Jr., Debbie (Mike) Corey, Sherry (Tom) Whitney, Larry (Maria) VanMaanen, Shelly (Grady) Malone, Steve (Dawn) VanMaanen, Callie (Jason) Denson and Jeff VanMaanen; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Sandra Love and Karen Wingert; a brother, Bob Bennett and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert VanMaanen Sr. and her second husband, Willis Mason.
