VerJean P. "Jeanie" Rush, 81, of Sioux City, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at Holy Spirit Nursing Home in Sioux City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Cathedral of the Epiphany. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. today, with a rosary at 4 p.m., at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes.

VerJean Phyllis "Jeanie" Hanson, the daughter of Myron and Lula (Munich) Hanson, was born on July 9, 1936, in Elk River, Minn. She attended school in Bemidji, Minn.

Jeanie was united in marriage with William "Bill" Rush at St. Olaf's Catholic Church in Minneapolis. She was employed as a word processor for Security and Toy banks.

Jeanie was a member of Cathedral of the Epiphany Catholic Church in Sioux City.

Jeanie is survived by her husband, Bill of Sioux City; children, Kathryn Rush Munich of Big Lake, Minn., and Steven (Nanci) Rush of Savage, Minn.; a granddaughter, Dr. Kelly Cleaves of Portland, Ore.; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Lloyd Hanson.

The family has requested that memorials be directed to the Holy Spirit Retirement Community Chapel Fund.
