Dolores E. “Dee” Duncan, 65, of Sioux City died Wednesday, June 10, 1998 at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Augustana Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Michael Last officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Duncan was born January 4, 1933, in Sioux City, the daughter of LeRoy and LaVern (Petersen) Thorp. She graduated from Central High School in 1951 and from St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1954. She received a degree in psychology from Briar Cliff College in 1979.

She married Robert F. Duncan on October 27, 1957, in Sioux City. She was employed with St. Joseph Hospital, the Public Health Department, Planned Parenthood and was the first director of the Indian Hills Care Center. She was the director of the WIC and Well Child Programs for the Woodbury County Community Action Agency.

She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church, the P.E.O. Chapter LD and the Order of the Eastern Star Azure Chapter 540.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and their wives, Daniel and Janette and Robert “Bob” and Cindy, all of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Pamela and Jay Morfitt of Newton, Iowa and seven grandchildren, Robbie, Danny, Rachael, Aaron and Alyssa Duncan, Duncan and Creighton Morfitt.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Robert John Duncan.

Pallbearers will be Clayton McLagan, Jim Motley, Bob Steckelberg, Bob Morfitt, John Hall and Dr. Allen Bronson.

Memorials may be directed to Augustana Lutheran Church.
