Floyd K. Jones Jr., 74, of Sioux City, formerly of Aberdeen, S.D., died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Miller-Huebl Funeral Home in Aberdeen, with the Rev. Dennis Hansen officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Sidney L. Smith Post 24 of Aberdeen. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Jones was born August 14, 1923, the son of Floyd K. and Elsie (Patzer) Jones Sr. He was raised and attended school in Aberdeen. In 1943, he entered the U.S. Army and served until 1957.

He married Charlotte Marie Becker on September 3, 1953, in Berlin, Germany. In 1960, the couple returned to Aberdeen. She died January 16, 1985. He lived with his daughter in Huntsville, Ala., Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Clarksville, Tennessee and Roswell, N.M. In 1997, he moved to Sioux City to live with his other daughter.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Judy and Daniel Rygh of Sioux City and Shirley and Dave Kemnitz of Roswell, N.M.; two brothers, Robert E. Jones of Eureka, S.D. and Darrell E. Jones of Orlando, Florida and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Pallbearers will be Daniel and Ryan Rygh, Dave and Nathan Kemnitz.
