Amelia C. Tone, 96, of Sioux City died Sunday, January 16, 2000 at Holy Spirit Retirement Home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix, Iowa, with the Rev. Donald Slaven officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Tone was born September 13, 1903 in Salix, the daughter of Vetal and Corrine (Lamoureux) LaCroix.

She married William “Babe” Tone on August 12, 1930 in Salix. The couple farmed in the Sergeant Bluff area for many years, until retiring in 1974. They then moved to Sioux City. He died September 22, 1984 in Onawa, Iowa.

She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Church of the Nativity in Sioux City.

Survivors include three brothers, Peter LaCroix and his wife, Rita, of Sioux City, Rene LaCroix of Isaquak, Washington and Phillip LaCroix and his wife, Margie of Sergeant Bluff; two sisters, Jeanette Cook of Omaha and Yvonne Sirois of Fountain Valley, California and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Fred, Edward, Ernest, and Francis LaCroix and three sisters, Adwilda Blanchard, Marie Trudeau and Eva LaCroix.
