Clarence M. Uhl, 89, of Sioux City died Saturday, January 15, 2000, at his residence.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nativity Catholic Church, with the Rev. Paul-Louis Arts, pastor at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. in Larkin Northside Funeral Home.

Mr. Uhl was born November 22, 1910, in Bronson, Iowa, the son of Alois W. and Edna G. (Fish) Uhl. He was raised in Bronson.

He married Herthel C. Wilcox on April 13, 1939 in Sioux City. The couple moved to Sioux City around 1942. They moved to their farm near Sioux City in 1945. He farmed from 1945 until retiring in 1973.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a former member of Dr. Tierney Council 5660 Third Degree Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Theresa M. Hennings of Omaha; five grandsons, Mark D. Brian D., Eric D., Jason D., and Scott D. Hennings; a brother Bernard of Lakewood, California and two sisters, Irma Nice of Salinas, California and Ruth Nice of Salem, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Lester, Maurice, Lawrence and Francis and a sister, Lily Nice.

Pallbearers will be Mark, Brian, Eric, Scott and Don Hennings and Larry Schmidt.
