Odeal M. (Chaussee) Tillson, 84, of Astoria, Ore., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, in Portland, Ore.

Memorial services were held at Peace Lutheran Church in Astoria.

Mrs. Tillson was born Dec. 30, 1919, in Vermillion, S.D., to Herbert and Clara (Erickson) Chaussee. The family moved to Sioux City a year later. She graduated from Central High School in 1938.

She married Earl W. Tillson on Feb. 4, 1939, in Sioux City. He died Aug. 20, 1988. She worked for Iowa Public Service as a bookkeeper and with H&R Block. She moved to Astoria in 1996.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, where she was a Stephen minister. She was a volunteer of the Columbia Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and an avid bridge player. She also was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Pamela Tillson and Bruce Holmes, of Denver, Colo.; a son, Terry Tillson of Denver, Colo. three granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and a brother and his wife, Curt and Ellen Chaussee of Sioux City.
