Dorothy Loftus, 92, of Sioux City died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marvin Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Loftus was born May 23, 1912, in Volga, S.D., the daughter of John and Emma (Vanderwall) Wobbema.

She married Arthur Loftus on Nov. 15, 1934, in Volga. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1944. She was a homemaker. Mr. Loftus died after 45 years of marriage on April 3, 1980, in Sioux City.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and an active member of the Siouxland Senior Center. She enjoyed the time she spent with family and friends.

Survivors include a son, Ron Loftus and his special friend, Chris Shimitz of Correctionville, Iowa; a daughter and her husband, Elaine and James Gisel of Richmond, Minn.; her special friend, Harvey Neville of Sioux City; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; five great-stepgrandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers; three sisters; and a granddaughter, Gail Loftus Hinkel.

Pallbearers will be Bob Loftus, Chuck Loftus, Tom Gisel, Doug Gisel, Dennis Bell and Milford Bell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Siouxland Senior Center or Trinity Lutheran Church.
